Rear quarter windows stripped

I stripped the rear quarter windows over Christmas 2010. The 'inner' rubber had pretty much perished and the brackets might need to be remade as quite corroded and I had to drill out a couple of the small countersunk screws. The latches are stripped: the 'brass-sleeve' gindes are trickt to remove and will need to be replaced, The photo shows one of the latches stripped for re-assembly after these are re-plated.

Various brightwork parts in prep

Starting with the exterior brightwork, the light bowls, indicator units, latches, hinges and door frames are stripped and cleaned up prior to plating or finishing.

The grit blast cabinet

This is the grit blast cabinet I'm using rid the smaller parts of rust before preparation of the metal for plating and finishing...

In the beginning...

July 2010, just arrived from Florida. First impressions are good - it's complete and it 'appears' sound.

The strip down begins with the removal of all the brightwork.
