Working on the carbs

 I had the carbs rebuilt by Carburettor Exchange some time ago. Disassembly-reassembly, replacing a few of the worn parts.

Paint experiment

This is an experiment in hand painting a rear quarter bumper panel (not mine) to discover what works, what's possible and what's not so good. 

To date...

Two coats of 1K primer mixed with 10% thinners. 500-800 grit sand

Polo Red 6802 2K 2:1 with hardener and 10% 2K thinners. Two coats to date with 800 grit sand.

 I had the engine shroud professionally repaired and painted.

 These have arrived. They're in two halves, left and right.

I've cleaned up the engine shroud, it's in reasonable order but I'll investigate whether to tackle a couple of small repairs.

Reassembly of the rear suspension

29th March 2017: the swing arms required small repairs for the handbrake cabling, anti-roll bar ball joints added, repainted (again), bearings pressed in and oil seals fitted, and handbrake re-assembled.
